Project Description

Does a Landscape Deserve a Second Act?

Bones of a Better Backyard

In Barto, a yard stood with a story already half-written. Strong structural foundations remained atop a massive stone retaining wall, yet weathered years had stolen a vibrant edge. For $20,000, Back to Nature chose restoration over demolition.

We identified an elevated frame worth saving and began a journey of surgical precision to revive a fading retreat nestled against a lush tree line.

New Life Underfoot: Trex Layering

Old wood made way for modern endurance. After stripping back splintered planks, we introduced high-performance Trex composite. Deep wood grains now catch light, offering a floor that stays barefoot-friendly and rich in color without a need for sanding or staining.

The transition from the brick walkway to the elevated platform now feels intentional, clean, and permanent.

What Happens When Old Meets New?

The Wisdom of Reuse

Sustainability defines high-end craftsmanship. We looked at existing aluminum railings and saw value instead of waste. By carefully cleaning and reinstalling original bronze-toned rails, we preserved a premium material that still had decades of life.

Choice kept focus on quality and reduced environmental impact while perfectly complementing new composite tones.

Awakening an Architectural Icon

A grand, gabled pavilion stood as a ghost of former social hours. We performed a comprehensive refresh, treating heavy timber beams and restoring visual weight.

Once again, it casts deliberate shadows across a renewed deck, creating an overhead sanctuary that grounds an entire space above a tiered garden.

A Legacy Restored

Barto results prove that $20,000 produces incredible change when guided by a vision of renewal. By merging Trex innovation with an iconic pavilion and salvaged aluminum, Back to Nature delivered a sanctuary that honors history while embracing a future of low-maintenance luxury.
